where talent can flourish
what is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is all about learning on the job whilst earning money. You work alongside a college provider and an employer to gain a nationally recognised qualification upon completion. The training is delivered mainly in the workplace but there will be occasions when the apprentice will go into college to learn.
The benefits of doing an apprenticeship
There are a multitude of benefits when doing an apprenticeship. Your child is supported by both the employer and college to help them gain a qualification with practical hands-on experience that can then be applied in the real world of work. They will also be earning money whilst learning!
Entry Requirements
You must be over 16 to apply for an apprenticeship.
Depending on the level of the apprenticeship, the qualifications you need will vary.
Apprentices need to show willing, hard work, enthusiasm, and flexibility to learn and develop within our company. It really is about getting stuck in.
Duration of the Course
Typically, the minimum amount of time to complete an apprenticeship is one year. However, this can vary depending on the level you are studying. This will be made clear at the start of the application process.
courses/qualifications
The qualification will depend on the type of apprenticeship.
There are two main entry level courses we run:
- Cider Academy – Level 2/3 Food and Drink Process Operator
- Brand Academy – Level 3 Business Administration
Both courses offer a good foundation into the company. From here on students specialise in certain roles/ departments.
Other students who have completed their apprenticeship with us here at Thatchers have also gone on to gain a higher qualification to help them develop even further in their skillset.
